Rodney Sparkowich Chapter Chair

Rod Sparkowich owns Coastal K9 Consulting, LLC, with his Wife, Tracy, and they provide Dog Training services for clients in both the Downeast and Southern Maine markets. Rod has been volunteering at Downeast Maine SCORE for three years and was a client before that. He has been a professional Dog Trainer for 39 years and, with his wife, Tracy Shaw, they offer complete Dog Training and Behavior Management services for pet dogs and working/service dogs throughout Maine. Rod and Tracy were recipients of the Maine Cooperative Extension Service's Small Business Leadership in Action Award for 2013, being recognized for making a difference in the local community.

Ed Bigney, Treasurer

Expertise: Business Operations, Management, Taxes

Born in Greenville, Ed is an Ellsworth resident and a graduate of the University of Maine, where he majored in engineering.  Ed spent his professional career in the paper industry with Great Northern and Champion International, primarily in mechanical pulping operations management and engineering.


Vikki Evers, Secretary

Expertise: Entrepreneurialship, E-commerce

Born in Bloomington, Illinois, Vikki was raised in Hollywood, Florida. She attended Florida State University, where she studied Math and Art History and met her husband, Ron. Together they moved to Orono, Maine, where they ran a natural food store for 11 years, including a bakery and restaurant.


Ray Becker

Expertise: Business Management

Ray graduated from Dartmouth College, with a Master’s Degree in Engineering and Business Administration from the College’s Thayer and Tuck professional schools, He also holds an MS in Management from the Sloan School at MIT.


Ann Anda

Expertise:  Entrepreneurialship, Marketing

Ann’s long and successful advertising and marketing career started in l968, when she joined New York City’s legendary DKG boutique agency as a junior copywriter. During her first year at DKG, Ann won the coveted Gold Key award for copywriting, and was soon recruited by the BBDO advertising agency, where she stayed for ten years, rising through the ranks to become that agency’s first female vice president. 


Richard Parks Anderson

Expertise: Entrepreneurialship, Marketing, International Business

After spending his early years in Europe, Richard served in the US Army in Vietnam and went on to earn a BA in Journalism from the University of Maine in Orono. As a graduate, he founded The Anderson Group, an advertising agency specializing in the production of radio broadcasts, which he operated for several years.


Bill Dohmen

Expertise: Banking, Finance, Business Management

During a fifteen-year career in banking, Bill worked as a commercial lender and credit policy officer, first with Mellon Bank and then as vice president at Philadelphia National Bank (PNB). While at Mellon, Bill served as assistant head of the Entertainment Industries Group, setting policy and reviewing loans to TV, radio, film, and cable companies, newspapers and magazines, casinos, and health clubs, among others.


Barbara Fox

Expertise: Entrepreneurialship, Business Management, Retail

Barbara graduated from Averett College in Danville, Virginia, with an Associate Degree in Merchandising. For five years, she owned, managed, and later sold, a Maine retail store, The Yarmouth Country Store.


Doris Masten

Expertise: Entrepreneurialship, Real Estate, Retail

Doris graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Arts Degree, following a Bachelor of Science Degree from the State University of New York at Cortland.  For thirty years, she was a real estate broker and owner of Masten Construction, specializing in land development and residential and commercial construction in the Hudson Valley of New York.


Krista Marsh

Expertise: Marketing and Client Management

Hailing from various small towns around the country, Krista finally settled down in Ellsworth, Maine after graduating from the University of Maine with a degree in Marketing. She has spent her time in Ellsworth working for small businesses both in Ellsworth and in Southwest Harbor. Taking the time to get to know her community and the people in it. 


David B. Loring

Expertise: Business Management and Marketing

Dave had a 27+ year career with the former AT&T Bell System and its subsidiaries. During his career, Dave held a number of executive positions in Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Product Management, Strategic Planning and New Product Development. 


Michelle Wingate

Expertise: Banking and Finance

Michelle graduated from St. Joseph's College of Maine with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Concentration in Banking.  She is a credit union business loan officer and has been employed in the financial field for 26 years.
